Ebben a topikban a vívás harcművészeti aspektusait szeretnénk megvitatni. Elsősorban a történelmi európai vívással, ezen belül szablyavívással szeretnénk foglalkozni, de minden más vívás képviselője is szívesen látott vendég a topikban.
Yes! Just let them know you have run your tournament using HEMA Scorecard and they are able to grab all the results. You don't have to worry about anything."
"Personally I think that the Technique over Philosophy approach is probably more a product of the Culture of HEMA in general. You have to remember that for the most part, unlike a "living" tradition which is propagated from person to person and so can more so carry a "spirit" to it, Historical European Martial Arts are Recreations of Historical Martial Arts. As such their substance is mostly gleaned from techniques written in books rat her than a philosophical tradition passed down. They are also mostly taught and learned by those interested in said techniques rather than the philosophical tradition.
It's also likely that if you were to bring some of the traditions associated back, they would not be so easily accepted as the eastern traditions are simply due to our modern culture. I can think of quite a few people who would not be on board with starting every class with a prayer to Jesus Christ and starting every duel by making a sign of the cross and kissing your sword.
In addition, I disagree that HEMA lacks philosophical substance. It is just rarely taught and of differing philosophy. Personally I'm currently studying Destreza del Sable and there are certain values the historic sources ask you to exhibit. Namely these are European "Christian" values. You should be calm and collected, never quick to anger, and rarely first to strike. Above all "as a good Christian Art" Destreza should value life. Your goal in any altercation is to defend until your opponent sees their folly, else end a fight by diarming them, and only when it is clear that is not possible, to kill them.
The Philosophical angle exists it just is often not taught and often somewhat contrary to the Philosophy taught in eastern Martial Arts."
"After studying various styles for 25 years, I finally decided to officially take a HEMA or Historical European Martial Art style. I knew there would be differences and similarities and wanted to express my own thoughts on them. This is not meant to denigrate either style."
"British Infantry Officer's Sword - ER 1897 Pattern (Steel Scabbard)
This sword is considered by some to be the best fighting sword ever issued to a British Officer. As such it has never been replaced and is the current issue sword within the British Army. The only difference between this sword and its Victorian predecessor is the cypher of the reigning monarch at the time of issue. The polished blade has been forged from AISI 1065 High Carbon Steel and has been well tempered.
Total length: 98 cm Blade length: 82.5 cm Grip length: 10.5 cm Weight: 0.902 kg Blade thickness (base): 5.6 mm
Blade width (base): 2.3 cm
[...]
Point of Balance (PoB): 14 cm [...] Blade: AISI 1065 High Carbon Steel"
* egy vágásra optimizált kard (jobban teljesít a vágásteszteken);
* közelharc szituációkban jobban használható (elképzelhető, hogy ez egy vitatható állítás)."
A gyors belépős-letérdelések is tudnak meglepetést okozni. A rendszerben a hosszúbot, a lándzsa és a naginata is részben a kard szempontjából szerepel, tehát, hogy mihez kezdjünk egy hosszabb fegyverrel szemben.
