Vergoossen had spells with, among other clubs, VVV, MVV, Roda JC (cup winners in 2000), Racing Genk (champions of Belgium in 2002 and Champions League participation in the 2002/03 season) and with Phillip Cocu’s current club, Al Jazeera. Vergoossen had intimated before that he intends to retire from professional football, but added he would very much like to delay making that decision if PSV registered an interest in his services.
