LIONS FEAR A EURO RIOT Millwall paired with 'Aryan Army'

From Martin Lipton In Monaco

MILLWALL were at the centre of a security red alert last night ahead of their first taste of European football.

The south-east London club were paired with Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros in their UEFA Cup first-round tie.

And while the Lions fans have cleaned up their act markedly in recent seasons, there will be a huge security cordon placed around the September 30 away leg by Budapest police because of the reputation of the Ferencvaros fans.JOL VAN PARASZTOK

Matches between Ferencvaros and their city rivals Ujpest have become battlegrounds, with police using tear-gas and rubber bullets to quell disturbances.

UEFA have fined Ferencvaros for the racism shown by their fans, who hold up banners declaring themselves to be members of the "Aryan Army," direct monkey chants at opposition black players, and chant anti-semitic slogans.

And the Hungarians, knocked out of the Champions League by Sparta Prague at the qualifying stage in midweek, have been banned from playing a league match in front of their own fans until next year.NA NEM IS TUDTAM................ILYEN HAZUG TAJEKOZATLAN IRNOKOKAT

The ban follows violent scenes at an end-of-season game against Debrecen, when hundreds of Ferencvaros home fans invaded the pitch, kicking and punching Debrecen's coach and players after a goalless draw.
