Three Stanley Cup Championships
2002-03: Awarded the Norris Trophy for the NHL’s best defenseman for the third consecutive season....Finished season with a club high rating of plus-40… .Only two players in the NHL finished with a higher rating (P. Forsberg and M. Hejduk each had +52)….Placed third overall in scoring for defensemen with 62 points (10g + 44 a)....Recorded 500th career assist 12/28/02 at Nashville assisting on a Sergei Fedorov power play goal....Finished with 30 power play points scoring eight goals and 22 assists on the mad-advantage.... (Mathieu Schneider had 31 power play points, but scored most of those with Los Angeles before the trade deadline in March 2003....Appeared in his 900th career Detroit/NHL game 1/19/03 vs. Chicago....Currently leads all Detroit defensemen in scoring with 688 points....Appeared in his seventh NHL All-Star Game 2/2/03 in Sunrise, FL representing the Western Conference and was the leading vote getter of all players selected....Played all four games of Detroit’s 2003 first round playoff series with Anaheim recording two assists and finishing the playoffs with a minus-one rating.
