Gahan wants Bjork on album
Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan says he wants Bjork and PJ Harvey to appear on his forthcoming,
as-yet-untitled solo album.
Gahan says that he will not quit Depeche Mode, even though he is to embark on a solo career.
He says: "I'd love to duet with PJ Harvey on the
album. I know Nick Cave has already worked with her but she's got such a distinctive voice. I'd also like to work with Bjork. She's a real talent."
He adds: "I still want to be involved with Depeche
Mode. Creatively, I'd say the band is now me and
Martin writing the songs but there's things I want to say and experiences I want to put down that would better suit a solo album."
Dave also revealed that most of the songs featured on his album are numbers that did not make the Depeche Mode album, Ultra.
He says: "I presented some songs I'd written to the band for our last album but they didn't get on the final album.
"Then someone suggested I get together with a producer called Knox Chandler and we started working on those songs and other ones in New York last year. It should be out this time next year."
Depeche Mode's new single, I Feel Loved, is released on July 30.
