"When I heard the anthem I looked up to Ayrton, who had changed my life when I was young. I was dedicating the race to him," Rubens said. "I had followed him as a boy and it hurt me quite a lot as I stood there. I know that a lot of people tried to put me in his place when he died and I am so pleased with all those who stayed with me, especially my father, and I want to thank them all."
