definition (IGe); Giving the main characteristics of something, which makes it unmistakable with other things. Basic rules of definition:

1. No circling. (vicious circle, petitio principii)
2. There should be no obscurity.
3. The definition must not be too wide or too narrow.
4. Intelligibility. It cannot refer to another, undefined thing.
5. One thing, it identifies, or many things of the same kind.
6. A definition should not be negative where it can be positive. We should not define "wisdom" as the absence of folly, or a healthy thing as whatever is not sick.

We have a lot of concepts (words) that many people use with incorrect definitions. Nothingness, infinity, existence, supernatural, believer, agnostic, atheist, metaphysics, "God"-"Car", theology, faith, science .... I suggest that we put those concepts in order, by defining them correctly. Maybe you can suggest something else to fix it.

1. Nincs körözés. (ördögi kör, petitio principii)

2. Nem lehet homály.

3. A meghatározás nem lehet túl tág vagy túl szűk.

4. Érthetőség. Nem utalhat más, meghatározatlan dologra.

5. Egy dolgot azonosít, vagy sok hasonló dolgot.

6. A meghatározás nem lehet negatív, ha lehet pozitív. Nem szabad úgy definiálnunk a „bölcsességet”, mint az ostobaság hiányát, vagy az egészséges dolgot úgy, mint ami nem beteg.

 

Rengeteg fogalmunk (szavank) van, amelyeket sokan hibás definíciókkal használnak. Semmi, végtelen, lét, természetfeletti, hívő, agnosztikus, ateista, metafizika, "Isten"-"autó", teológia, hit, tudomány... Azt javaslom, hogy ezeket a fogalmakat tegyük rendbe, helyesen határozva meg őket. Esetleg tudtok valami mást ajánlani a javításra.
