"Ferrari boss Jean Todt
said: "Michael Schumacher had an accident on
the opening lap because of a problem with
the rear brakes. We are investigating the
cause. He has broken the tibia and fibula of
the right leg and is currently undergoing an
operation in Northampton General Hospital."
