"Latest internet rumours suggest that the Chengdu (CAC) J-20 has been deployed to its first operational Brigade, with 9th Brigade at Wuhu getting the honours of having the strongest rumours. This unit operates Su-30MKK for some years now. At Wuhu Air Base is also the 7th Brigade located, operating the recently delivered J-16. The airbase is situated nicely between Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

Initial operational experience with the J-20 has been gained since 2016 at Dingxin Air Base with 176th Brigade, together with the homegrown J-16 and it can be expected that development of additional tactics will continue there.

First flight of the J-20 was at 11 January 2011 from Chengdu."
