Burial sites containing the characteristic corded ware, impressed with cords in the unfired clay, are known in a wide area in northern, central and westen Europe: Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Netherlands, northwest Germany, Denmark and southern parts of Norway and Sweden"
