A görög végződés lehagyásával a karkha 'adószedő'.

Ezt a perzsa pat, bad 'főnök, elöljáró, -nagy' járulék hozzáadásával is közvetítették Bizáncból (arkapatész stb.).

- taxmaspada / spada - méd katonai főtiszt

- navpati / naupati  - tengernagy az akhaimenidáknál

- aspbad  - a szavaroknak hívott nehézpáncélos lovagi erők parancsnoka a szászánidáknál*

- arzbad-e-aspwaragan - katonai oktató a szavaroknál

- spahbad - parancsnok vagy katonai kormányzó

- Eran-spahbad - védelmi miniszter és főparancsnok

- andarzbad  - királyi tanácsos

- argbadh - a királyi család tagjai által viselt legmagasabb rangú katonai tisztek egyike

- artabid - title for Azadan families who were entrusted with specific duties, such as crowning each new monarch

- karrogbadh - chief of imperial workers; a rather unimportant position mostly delegated to Christians, specially during the reign of Khosrau II.

- hirbad / hirbod - protector and caretaker of fire temple, Zoroastrian judge and arbiter

- mobad - high-ranking Priest (moghpati, moghbadh; plural: Mobadan)

- mobadan mobad - chief of the clergy
