Plato wrote about them in Ancient Greece. In fact all sorts of people have been having out-of-body experiences since time immemorial.
And it seems they have all been deceived. According to researchers at Birmingham University, out-ofbody experiences (or OBEs) are, er, all in the mind. Far from being a spiritual bridge between the land of the living and “the other side” they are in fact merely vivid hallucinations caused by physiological changes or “events” in the body and the nervous system. Nothing to do with the spiritual."
