For the first time since different versions came to light, the manager Carlos Bianchi referred to a possible interest the Real Madrid in hiring him, although he asserted that he will continue in Boca Juniors, till the end of his contract, in December 2005.
After the 2 to 1 victory against Sporting Cristal, of Perú, which allowed the blue-yellow team to enter the quarterfinals of the Libertadores, Bianchi made a reference to the probable interest of the Spanish institution to acquire his services, starting the next season. Nevertheless, even though he didn't mention the "merengue" club at any time, the coach repeat his commitment and intention to stay in Boca.
"When I renewed the contract, Mauricio (Macri, the president of Boca) had asked me to sign it for a year and a half. But I said to him that it should be a three-year contract, because this period of time seemed more logical to work", said the
"Mi idea is to stay in Boca because I am comfortable and I'll try to get to the end of the contract", Bianchi assured.
In connection to the event played this Wednesday at night in the "Bombonera", Boca's manager trusted that his team "kept control of the ball", but at no time it meant to underestimate the match.
"With the partial result 2-0 in favour to us, the classification seemed closed. The discount of Sporting Cristal arrived, but I think we were far away from reaching a point where the result would be at risk", he sustained.
Facing the next opponent in the way to win the cup, Sao Caetano, from Brazil, the manager of Boca stated: "Like all Brazilian teams, the match is going to be difficult because they treat the ball very well and come from eliminating a complicated adversary, as it is America, from México"
"Besides -Bianchi said- don't forget that they are no longer a surprise, because Sao Caetano was the losing finalist in the 2002 edition of the Libertadores Cup".
Not only does Boca have his external front open, but it is also the undefeated leader of the "Clausura" Tournament. And on Sunday, Boca will have an important test against River, in the super classic for the 14th date.
"We're expecting Sunday's game with optimism, because the team is doing all right, without injured players and with satisfactory productions", he remarked.
