Five-year-old Demi needed oxygen, was put on a drip and given steroids to recover after being exposed to temperatures of 40°C (104°F).
Distraught owner Jennifer Parker, 45, had no idea her beloved cat was napping inside the dryer when she threw in a pile of wet towels.
And she only realised her moggie had been inside when she unloaded the machine.
Mum-of-three Jennifer, from Whitchurch, Shrops, said: "Poor Demi has used up more than one of her lives — it's a miracle she survived.
"I loaded towels into the tumble dryer and put it on.
"It must have been going for 40 minutes when it stopped and I opened the door to see if they needed any more time and heard Demi meowing.
"I looked inside and pulled her out — she was all curled up tight and looked like a ball of fluff.
"I rang our local vet immediately and he told me to bring her in so I ran with her in my arms."
Demi is now expected to make a full recovery after receiving treatment.
Jennifer's 16-year-old daughter Hannah Bolas added: "If it wasn't for the vet she wouldn't be alive — a few more minutes and she wouldn't have survived."
Vet Andy Nelson said: "This is the first time I have seen such a dreadful accident."
