Az illetékes testület egyhangúlag fogadta el a Marc Mimram építész által készített terveket. Az elképzelések szerint jövőre további két pályát is felszerelnek mozgó tetővel a Roland Garroson. A wimbledoni új fedett centerpálya tesztelése vasárnap lesz: az ünnepélyes próbán olyan világsztárok lépnek fel, mint Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf és Tim Henman és Kim Clijsters.

Andre Agassi began his professional tennis career in 1986 at the age of 16. His performance on the court earned him 60 career men’s singles titles, including eight Grand Slam singles championships. Agassi is the only male player in the world to win all four Grand Slam titles and an Olympic gold medal. Agassi retired from his tennis career following the U.S. Open in the summer of 2006. In 1994, Agassi founded the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation which is dedicated to transforming U.S. public education for underserved youth. Agassi is married to former tennis superstar Stefanie Graf, and the couple have two children.

Stefanie Graf graced the tennis courts, and built a career that spanned 17 years and 902 victories. She announced her retirement from tennis in 1999. Graf won 22 Grand Slam singles titles (seven at Wimbledon, six at the French Open, five at the US Open and four at the Australian Open). In 1988, Graf won all four Grand Slam singles titles, the Olympic gold medal and 96 percent of her matches. Graf was ranked No.1 for a WTA-record 377 weeks, including 186 in a row. Stefanie Graf is the founder of Children for Tomorrow, a non-profit organization focused on helping children and their families who are victims of war, persecution or organized crime. Graf is married to Andre Agassi, and the couple have two children.

TICKETS FOR CENTRE COURT CELEBRATION SELL OUT IN FIVE MINUTES
The All England Club, Wimbledon, has confirmed that tickets for its event to test the new Centre Court roof, featuring Andre Agassi, Stefanie Graf, Kim Clijsters and Tim Henman, sold out five minutes after going on general sale this morning.
The event (A Centre Court Celebration) on 17 May 2009 will test the roof and air-management system with live play in front of a crowd of 15,000.
Ian Ritchie, Chief Executive of the All England Club, said: “The demand for tickets was truly exceptional and we are delighted to have a capacity Centre Court crowd for a great day on the 17 May.”

A korábbi bajnokok közül Andre Agassi és Steffi Graf vesz részt a wimbledoni teniszszentély új, fedett centerpályájának avatógáláján.
A sportág leghíresebb házaspárja az ugyancsak visszavonult angol Tim Henmannal és belga Kim Clijstersszel együtt május 17-én teszteli csukott tető alatt a 15 ezer férőhelyes szentélyt.
A rajongók, akik 35 fontért juthatnak be, férfi egyest, női egyest és vegyespárost is láthatnak majd a pénzükért.
Andre Agassi túl van idei egyetlen hivatalos fellépésén: egy tizennyolc éves teniszezővel ütögetett egy órán keresztül - az „amerikai Tibi bácsi” elintézte.
Egy kívánságok teljesítésével foglalkozó amerikai alapítvány teljesítette egy fiatal teniszező kívánságát: Mark Secrest Andre Agassival teniszezhetett egy órát. A szerencsés kiválasztott családjával együtt limuzinnal érkezett a bemutató mérkőzés helyszínére, ahol vörös szőnyeg várta. Nem sokkal később megérkezett az isteni Andre is, aki 1986-tól 2006-ig íródó profi pályafutása során hatvan ATP-tornát – közte nyolc Grand Slamet – nyert meg.
A szépszámú közönség nagyon élvezte a látottakat, Markot pedig különösen irigyelhette, hiszen a páratlan élményen kívül Agassi dedikált ütőjével is gazdagodott. „És egy egész órát a fiamra szánt?” – kerekedett ki Mark édesanyjának a szeme, amikor megtudta, hogy Agassinak ebben az évben ez volt az egyetlen hivatalos tenisz-fellépése. „Mark a világ legnagyobb ajándékát kapta”.
Steffi és Andre Frankfurtban. November 1-jén rendezik meg itt az operában a német sportsajtó bált (Deutschter Sportpresse Ball), és a "Sportlet mit Herz" címre Steffi&Andre az egyik jelölt a 8 közül.
Sportler mit Herz Höhepunkt der Gala, die vom Verein Frankfurter Sportpresse ausgerichtet wird, ist die Ehrung des „Sportlers mit Herz“, mit der besonderes soziales Engagement und sportliche Fairness ausgezeichnet wird. Die acht Nominierten sind in diesem Jahr Steffi Graf & Andre Agassi, Philipp Lahm, Robert Enke, Henry Maske, Oliver Kahn, Per Mertesacker, Toni Schumacher und Matthias Steiner. Doch wer tatsächlich zum „Sportler mit Herz“ geehrt wird, wird erst am Ballabend bekannt gegeben.
