Hali superhoops!

We are QPR!!! So we are QPR!!!

p.s. Ja! Persze gratula a csapatnak a tegnapi győzelméhez!

Chaos Behind the Scenes

By Clive Whittingham
Date: 26/8/2005

Nver a dull moment down at Loftus Road. As the Dream Team style saga of QPR continued at speed last night the club lost two loyal employees, who both support the team, and the big question is where the hell do we go from here?
"The Board of QPR Holdings Ltd has decided that Mr Mark Devlin's position as Chief Executive Officer is to be made redundant with immediate effect.

Mr Bill Power is no longer Chairman of the Board but remains as a Director.

Mr Gualtiero Trucco has been appointed interim Chairman of the Board.

Bill Power and Director Kevin McGrath do not recognise the validity of these decisions which were taken at yesterday's Board meeting in their absence.

They are currently seeking legal advice with regards to these decisions."

That is all our club could bring themselves to tell us after another shambolic day in the history of QPR.

Under normal circumstances this site would ignore the ever more bizarre nature of the boardroom politics at QPR - but it seems a little daft of us to just carry on like nothing has happened so here goes!

Today Bill Power was ousted as Chairman of the football club and Mark Devlin sacked as Chief Executive.

Whatever mistakes these individuals made they were both QPR fans, and while they were around I for one always felt slightly reassured that we wouldn't wind up in the same situation as Brighton i.e. playing at some poxy athletics stadium while the happy shoppers of W12 bought their garden furniture on the site of our old ground.

Now that safety net of having QPR supporters involved at the highest level has gone, and I'm pretty scared of what the future may hold for our beloved club.

More concerning is the fact that Dunga flew in for the board meeting, and cast a crucial vote against Power and Devlin. That's the Dunga who arrived in a hail of publicity a year ago only to disapear back to wherever he came from and never be heard of again. The Dunga who hasn't attended one board meeting or match since he became involved. Yet he gets a crucial say!

We now have an unknown Italian gentleman as Chairman. Who is he? What are his motives? Where do we go from here? How much money are we losing?

This all comes under two weeks since the bizarre story of paladini being threatened at gun point by Director Dave Morris and his associates.

What does Gianni intend to do with our football club that got Morris so riled as to try and make him resign under durress?

Personally if the club prospers and we end up celebrating promotion under a giant Italian flag singing the name of Paldini nobody will be happier than me, because I want the team to do well and care little for this boardroom rubbish.

However the lack of information is frightening. What do these people want to do with QPR? I urge Paladini and his friends to come out and tell us why this has happened, and what's coming next ASAP.

People are a little concerned as to why anyobdy would want to own a football club with a £10 million pound loan round its neck that is losing money. Where's the opportunity for profit there? The only thing the club has is the ownership of its ground on prime real estate and, oh god it doesn't bare thinking about.

Goodness me to support a normal football team, that is what we all want.

In amongst all this Ian Holloway must prepare a team to face Sheffield Wednesday this Friday. Good luck to him and the boys.

Már megint a tavalyi kishitüség! A tavalyi feljutó Wigan kerete semmivel sem erősebb a ti mostani kereteteknél. A Championship egy külön dimenzió nem mindíg érvényesül a papirforma. Most az előérzetem alapján (ami 90%-os) 80%-ot adok a feljutásotokra.

Men held after QPR boss is threatened with gun at game during game By Matthew Beard Published: 15 August 2005 Police are questioning 11 men after a director of Queen's Park Rangers football club in west London was ambushed at gunpoint outside the boardroom.

Gianni Paladini, 58, an Italian recently installed on the club's board, was attacked minutes before kick-off by a gang of five men as he walked towards his office in the Loftus Road stadium with a fellow director.

His assailants burst through double security doors, kicking him, beating him and demanding he resign his position as they held a gun to his head.

Fearing for his life, Mr Paladini signed his own "resignation letter" and broke free from the gang to the nearby boardroom from where he alerted police at about 3pm as his side's home game against Sheffield United was getting underway.

Armed police rushed to the ground where they made some arrests as well as in the nearby Uxbridge and South Africa roads. Mr Paladini was visibly distressed as he watched the second half of the club's 2-1 win and wept as he was escorted into the players' tunnel by two police officers after the game.

As Mr Paladini was recovering from his ordeal, in which he suffered suspected broken ribs, Scotland Yard detectives began to investigate the club's turbulent off-the-field recent history - which has seen an unseemly struggle for control of the once-fashionable west London club - for a possible motive for the attack.

From the heights of the 1970s, when their outstanding side boasted such stars as Gerry Francis and Stan Bowles, QPR sunk three divisions. After financial collapse under former owner Chris Wright, the club staved off closure with a Ł10m loan accruing Ł1m in interest per year.

Yesterday supporters were struggling to explain the attack, although some thought it may have been in connection with Mr Paladini's criticism of the club's finances.

The Italian, a former players' agent, bought a reported 22.1 per cent share in QPR for Ł600,000 in May last year. He openly questioned the Ł10m loan taken out by the club when it was on the point of folding in 2002. He told a recent fans' forum it was "absolutely imperative" to renegotiate the loan. The money was lent by ABC Corporation, registered in Panama, which has also lent Ł15m to Derby County

Last autumn, Mr Paladini claimed the club was close to bankruptcy and, with the help of a football agent, Antonio Caliendo, organised a Ł1.7m investment into the club from two Monaco-based consortiums. The main shareholding in the club, thought to be 46 per cent, is held by his wife Olga.

Mr Paladini described the "petrifying" attack in an interview with the News of the World, saying he feared for the safety of his family. "I was petrified. One of them was holding my wrists and another was pointing a gun. They shouted at me to sign a piece of paper resigning from the board. Of course I signed it - but I have no intention of leaving the club.

"They tried to push me out of the ground but I managed to break clear and run into the boardroom, shouting for help. It was terrifying, I think they've broken one of my ribs. They were pushing me violently. I won't let them bully me out of the club. But they've taken my phone. I'm really, really frightened now for my family and friends but I won't let these cowards get away with this. This has brought shame to the club."

The audacious attack has astonished many long-standing fans. "I was at the game but I didn't realise what had happened until I got home," said Paul Finney from the QPR Loyal Supporters Association. "The fans are shocked because we really can't think that Gianni would have made enemies like that. It's also bizarre that a gang would want to do that sort of thing considering there must have been around 200 police at the ground."

Police are questioning the 11 men on suspicion of conspiracy to commit blackmail. A Met spokeswoman said: "Inquiries are continuing."

Szakmai kérdés: tavaly valamikor március körül Shimmin és Hislop mellett Shaun Clohessy is próbajátékon volt nálatok az Arsenaltól. Vele mi lett? A QPR hivatalos honlapján nincs a játékos névsorban. Lehet tudni merre játszik mostanság?

from skysports.com

Queens Park Rangers defender Danny Shittu has admitted he would jump at the chance of a move to The Premiership this summer.

The imposing centre back, 24, is understood to be a target for both Manchester City and Southampton following a fine season.

Shittu fought back from a serious knee ligament injury sustained in January 2004 and has showed his very best form in recent weeks with a series of commanding displays in Rangers' rearguard.

The Ł250,000 signing from Charlton is aware of the reported interest in him, and is hungry for a chance to play in the top flight again.

"I've been hearing a lot of positive things, I'm not sure how much is true but it's flattering to hear teams are looking at you," he told skysports.com.

"I'm happy at QPR and the club have done a lot for me. I've managed to make a name for myself and enjoy it there, but I don't know any player who doesn't want to play in The Premiership.

"It would be nice to play in The Premiership with QPR, but if the opportunity comes to move there this summer I would definitely consider it, 100 percent.

"My aim from day one has been to play in The Premiership. I started with Charlton, and have played in Division One and Two and now The Championship, but I have always wanted to get back to The Premiership.

"I can't really talk about specific clubs yet, but I will look at what offers do come in and decide from there.

"I don't have an agent at the moment so I can't say too much about how things stand as I'm currently sorting that side of things out."

City are believed to be leading the chase for the stopper with a Ł1.5 million deal being mooted and Southampton would need to avoid relegation to have a realistic chance of landing the player.
