Hellas Verona target Utrecht striker van der Haar 03 Jul 2005
According to local newspaper ´L´Arena´ Italian second division side Hellas Verona have set their sights on Hans van der Haar. The Utrecht top scorer could be persuaded to accept the club's advances with the arrival of up front signings Robin Nelisse and Marc-Antoine Fortuné. According to L´Arena, Hellas Verona and van der Haar´s agent have already held preliminary talks. The Italian Seria B side believe van der Haar would be the ideal replacement for Albanian international striker Bogdani who left the club this summer. Before joining Utrecht the 30-year-old Dutch striker played for Haarlem, De Graafschap (twice), Uerdingen, Ulm, Bregenz and for the past two season at FC Utrecht. Van der Haar netted 69 goals in 257 games.
Ricky Kruys' dazzling performances during the Fifa Youth World Cup this summer in Holland have not gone unnoticed at Belgian side Club and Brugge are who preparing €3.5 million offer for the Utrecht midfielder. Brugge believe Kruys will be able to fdill the void left by Timmy Simons who joined Dutch Champions PSV this week. Kruys is under contract at Utrecht until 2009 and will demand a sizeable offer for their midfield ace.
FC Utrecht players Prince Rajcomar and Michel Vorm will be playing for relegated outfit FC Den Bosch next term. Both players have agreed to a one-seaon long loan deal. 20-year-old striker Rajcomar joined Utrecht from Fortuna last season and managed 20 first team appearances. However, he will have less chance of gaining a first team place this term and the club would like him to gain more first team experience at Den Bosch. Rajcomar was a memeber of Holland's under 20' team that reached the quarter finals of the recent World Championships in The Netherlands. Michel Vorm is Utrecht's third choice goalkeeper. His contract was recently extended ujntil 2007.
Portsmouth target Utrecht defender Di Tommaso 28 Jun 2005
Premier League outfit Portsmouth are hot on the tail of Utrecht defender David Di Tommaso who only joined the Dutch club last year from Sedan. Pompey coach Alain Perrin is believed to be a fervent admirer of the 25-year-old Frenchman, who who earlier in his career was linked with moves to Blackburn, Middlesbrough and Ipswich. Although Utrecht say they would like to retain Di Tommaso, they will not be able to resist the temptation of a substantial Pompey offer.

FC Utrecht won the last match in the competiton of this season last Sunday. FC Utrecht won in stadium De Vliert with 0-3 from FC Den Bosch, which is downgraded to the first division.
Sunday the pressure laid at the home playing team. FC Den Bosch had to win against FC Utrecht and even the result between De Graafschap and Vitesse was of importance for a place in the play-offs. De Graafschap also lost his match, though Gert Kruys'team secured itself of a place in the play-offs because FC Utrecht won their match and because De Graafschap had a better scoring result.
Only in the 9th minute FC Utrecht took the lead.. Hans van de Haar crossed the high pass of Rick Kruys to Dave van de Bergh: 0-1. During the added time of the first half FC Den Bosch player Paul Verhaegh scored in his own goal 0-2. During the second half the better chances also were for FC Utrecht, but only once the ball hit the net. In the final stage Van den Bergh determined the final score on 0-3, with his second goal.
FC Utrecht fullfilled his duty. There was nothing that good be said against FC Utrecht's victory. After a serie of disappointing matches Foeke Booy's team closes the season worthy. On the final list FC Utrecht takes the eleventh position with44 points (two pointes less than last season).
'The most important is a good closing of this season. Especially as a sign to our fans', Foeke Booy said. He added: 'Against Den Bosch our flaw of the season was obvioud. We should have won with 5 or 6-0. I can imagin that the defenders and midfielders are having difficulties when the chance is not being killed'.
According to Booy this was the explanation for the fact that FC Utrecht could not compete for a position which gives the right to play European matches till the end of the competition, this year. Among others Foeke Booy mentioned the defeats in home-playing matches against Vitesse, FC Groningen, Heerenveen, and Willem II. Matches in which his team created the chances but did not cash them. Booy also pointed out that after the winter break some qualifying players as Alje Schut, Stefaan Tanghe and Jean-Paul de Jong were lost.
'It is a pity that we were not able to compete for the positions for European football, however we are looking forward to the next season', according to Booy.
