Buzasky Talks About Why He's Joining QPR - Plymouth Herald - 30/10/2007 - Akos: I need a new challenge
Argyle midfielder Akos Buzsaky tells today why he has decided to pull the plug on his three years with the Pilgrims - and head off to the bright lights of west London. The talented 25-year-old Hungarian international was ྟ per cent certain' last night that he would be starting a new chapter in his footballing career with Argyle's Championship rivals, Queens Park Rangers. Buzsaky, medical and other formalities permitting, is due to sign a loan deal with Rangers which would see him at the Loftus Road club until January 1. And if all goes well, he will become the first signing of new Rangers boss Luigi de Canio, the 50-year-old former manager of Udinese, Napoli, Reggina, Genoa and - most recently - Siena in Serie A when the transfer window opens in the new year. Former Porto player Buzsaky last night admitted he was excited by the prospect of a new challenge. He joined the Pilgrims in a £270,000 transfer from Porto in 2005. But Buzsaky added: "For me, Plymouth will always be in my heart before Porto. "I have been here in Plymouth for three years and I've had a brilliant time. "I've really enjoyed my time here, but in a football career, sometimes you need a new challenge. "I think I had a good spell in Plymouth - we had some success and I had good periods and bad periods." Buzsaky added: "Last week, I didn't know anything about this opportunity, but then I found out that they (QPR) really wanted me, which is really important." Buzsaky, who had not featured in Argyle's 2-0 defeat at Preston North End on Saturday, had been mulling over the offer of a new deal with the Pilgrims over the weekend. He told Herald Sport: "I think Plymouth is happy with the deal (with QPR). "The choice was that I signed a new deal with Plymouth, or tried myself at a different club. "It was a difficult decision to make, because I have my friends in Plymouth and I was settled there. "I am looking forward to the new challenge, but I was happy down there and it was an emotional decision to have to make. "I always felt really important at Plymouth - I played regularly and had more than 100 games for Plymouth at a very good level, while it wasn't the same at Porto. "Some of the highlights were signing the deal to play for Plymouth, then I had seven or eight good games for Tony Pulis, then got injured, then when Ollie (Holloway) came along, I had six or seven good games, then I got injured. "I had a good season so far this season as well and I played well at West Ham (in the Carling Cup) and at QPR." Buzsaky said he was looking forward to working with de Canio, whose appointment at Loftus Road was announced shortly before the Hungarian revealed he was going to QPR. Buzsaky said: "It's important that I'm the first signing for the new manager. "He's Italian and has managed in Italy and his teams play more my sort of game than we played in Plymouth." He added: "Footballers have a short career and probably make four or five important decisions in that time. "This is one of them and hopefully it will turn out right"
A QPR télen jelentős erősítést tervez, több olasz futballistát is szeretne leigazolni, ráadásul a gárda Luigi De Canio személyében immár olasz vezetőedzővel rendelkezik.

Vialli: Loftus Road bound?
Queens Park Rangers' new joint-owner Bernie Ecclestone has revealed that the club are in talks with Gianluca Vialli.
John Gregory was sacked as manager of QPR on Monday following the 5-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion.
Mick Harford has been placed in temporary charge, but Ecclestone has confirmed that co-owner Flavio Briatore has spoken with Vialli.
Good or bad
On Thursday the Italian moved to flatly deny rumours linking him with the manager's job at Loftus Road, but Ecclsetone's comments have reignited fresh speculation.
"I don't know whether Vialli is good or bad. Flavio knows him. He has been talking to him," he said.
"From a coach you need someone who motivates players. The guy sitting there can't tell them what to do.
"They know to kick the ball in the goal. You don't have to tell them that unless they are really dumb.
"You want then to feel that they can win when they go out on the pitch. Chelsea played for Jose Mourinho. He commanded enormous respect."
Blessing
Harford, meanwhile, has revealed that he took the job of caretaker manager with the blessing of Gregory.
"I spoke to John at length and told him the chairman had offered me the job as caretaker manager," he told the club's official website.
"John told me to go for it and to look after the club. It's a good opportunity for me."
Morning all. Been away and trawling through the weeks's postings (or should that be 'trolling through...'?) I see I've missed some fun on the board!
Oh well, no game today, and after a traumatic few weeks, hopefully JG and the boys will be using the break to regroup and recuperate, so they can hit the ground running at Leicester next week.
With a reduced England in action today and Wednesday, I find that for the first time in years, I realise that I have been so much more concerned about Rangers recently than England (my loyalties have usually been quite even) - I'd much rather see QPR promoted or in the play-offs than England do well in Europe (actually, since when is Israel in Europe...?).
Don't get me wrong, I'll be watching this afternoon and cheering Engalnd on and hoping they qualify. But I'd rather be watching Rangers.
Is it the lacklustre, passionless Maclaren, the team of so-called superstars who just never seem to replicate their club form for their country, or is it the heightened sense of togetherness - 'Rangers against the World', that the loss of Ray Jones, the near bankruptcy of the club and the seemingly endless on-off takeover speculation has engendered?
It would be interesting to hear how other R's fans feel about England or QPR.

A Formula 1-es Renault csapatfőnöke, Flavio Briatore, a QPR új tulajdonosa, aki Bernie Ecclestonenal vette meg a csapatot ígéri, januártól új alapokra helyezi a klubot! - Új alapokra kívánon helyezni a klubot! - mondta Briatore. Ehhez kötöttük a reklámszerződéseket is!
QPR have confirmed that Formula One magnates Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone have "made a recommended offer" for the Coca-Cola Championship club.
Briatore, head of the Renault F1 team, and Ecclestone will now take control of the club although current chairman Gianni Paladini will remain in position.
Briatore told the club's official website www.qpr.co.uk: "Bernie and I were delighted to receive a recommendation from the board of QPR for our bid for the club and we look forward to working alongside Gianni Paladini and his team.
"We are fully aware of the history of QPR and the loyal fanbase that it has and are totally committed to bringing future success back to the club."
Paladini said: "This offer provides much needed investment and an excellent opportunity to move the club forward which will be translated into positive results on the pitch.
"I am delighted that Flavio and Bernie have asked me to remain on the board and I hope to play a large part in the future of QPR."
The news was announced prior to the Championship clash with Southampton at Loftus Road, where all 11 Rangers players donned shirts shirts carrying Ray Jones' name on the back.
The 18-year-old striker was killed last weekend in a car accident and the club confirmed that no further comment on the takeover would be made today.
A statement said: "The club will be making no further comment at this stage, as our focus today remains on celebrating the life and times of Ray Jones, who tragically died in a motor accident last weekend."

- REUTERS - UPDATE 2-Soccer-Briatore confirms interest in taking over QPR Fri Aug 24, - By Alan Baldwin ISTANBUL, Aug 24 (Reuters) - Renault Formula One team boss Flavio Briatore confirmed on Friday that he was part of a group interested in taking over second division English soccer club Queens Park Rangers. However, the flamboyant Italian said he was only one of those involved in the talks. No offer had been made and nothing signed. "We are talking. we are a bunch of friends together," he told reporters at the Turkish Grand Prix while declining to name any of his associates. "If it happens I am very happy, if not I am very happy as well." The West London club, who have debts of 17 million pounds ($34 million) and need considerable new investment, said in an earlier statement that they were in talks with various parties that could lead to a takeover bid. "The board of QPR announces that it is engaged in discussions with a number of parties that may or may not lead to an offer being made for the entire issued share capital of the company," it said. Briatore, a multi-millionaire and close associate of billionaire Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone, said he had never been to QPR's Loftus Road ground. The history behind it (the club) is great. And I pass the stadium every time I go to Oxford by helicopter and so I become friendly with the stadium," he said. Briatore added that if his group were successful, Formula One would remain his priority. Renault have been champions for the past two seasons. "The idea is like any other," said Briatore, whose other business interests include nightclubs and exclusive Billionaire fashion shops. "I opened the Cipriani (restaurant) in London but I am not in the kitchen to cook. I have the people managing it. "Formula One is my priority 100 percent, anything else we are doing in a professional way but as a group of friends. Nothing dramatic." Briatore, a lifelong supporter of Italian club Juventus, said he had met QPR chairman Gianni Paladini only once: "After that it was the normal talking with my people and the people from the board." Flavio Briatore, who runs the Renault F1 team, is set to become the new owner of Queens Park Rangers, says the club's chairman. 2007 French GP Renault Briatore - 0
"Mr Briatore wants to do for QPR what Mohamed Al Fayed has done for Fulham and turn us into a Premier League club," Rangers chairman Gianni Paladini told the Sun.
"It is a dream come true for all the fans and saves this club from liquidation."
Billionaire Briatore, 57, will wipe out QPR's debt of 17 million pounds ($33.78 million) and invest an extra 100 million pounds over three years, the Sun reported.

Queens Park Rangers chairman Gianni Paladini has warned that the club could be forced into administration if a rescue package is not agreed. The club need to pay a £1.3 million bill to the Inland Revenue by the end of the month, and Paladini is disappointed that talks with Renault Formula One team principal Flavio Briatore over a £30 million takeover have stalled.
"There is now a huge concern over the club's future," Paladini said. "Flavio has made it plain that if one decimal point moves on the agreed price, he doesn't want to know. There is no one else ready to step in."
Antonio Caliendo, the chairman of QPR Holdings Ltd, has denied that the club is up for sale.
The glib curt statement on the offish site seems to have some lines missing. Because it was for sale for the last month.
GP has been to see me several times each month. More, very kindly, to discuss my health rather than that of our club.
During those get togethers' it became obvious that new money and impetus was needed.
I spoke to some friends [all qpr] who said they were willing to buy out AC at the price he bought in at. To be honest against my advice which was to argue the shares were not worth what he had paid, but....
A plan was put in action by them. ABC would have been gone and sort out what was needed to repay any loans AC had outstanding which would have meant he waited for several years to be repaid in full but would receive 2.5mill up front and monthly payments, heaven forbid we got to the promised land and he would receive whatever was then o/s and a bonus to show gratitude for helping our club. In principle I believed the deal was done, everyone will be glad to know it did not involve me returning as anything other than in an honorary position.
Before the Celtic game I met Gianni to shake on the deal, but found that another option had risen and to make this absolutely clear. Gianni said he was willing still to accept the offer I had proposed if I insisted.
He gave me the briefest details of another offer, that we both agreed he need expand no more to me on.
For the good of our club it was obvious that no one needed to look any further. FULL STOP. I was happy to wish Gianni and his other bid every possible success. My group disbanded and went on to something else and I sat back then and began to dream.
From my limited knowledge of the clubs finances we will either go into administration by the end of the month or we will survive because someone..
A. puts in a minimum 5 million immediately.
or
B. gambles the survival of our club in the belief that they can sweet talk several football clubs and the tax man to wait for installments of the installments we have as a club been offering installments offor years!!!.
I don't doubt prominent 'QPR' people will ask, what do I know and why didn't i do things differently. I wonder if anyone will see the irony of those comments when they come from whoever.
If anyone thinks this is not the 59th minute of the 11th hour let me warn, this is not Fulham P.R. again or some kind of MK Rs it will be the end of our club.
I hate writing this because I am aware this sort of statement does nothing to help the side so would ask that no matter what happens over the next few days you show 100% support to John Gregory and the team and by all means vent your anger at me for not achieving more and in as constructive a way as is possible at this time anyone else you feel is or has let the club down.
To the the people who think they have a better plan than the takeover we so nearly had prior to the statement last night come out and tell us about it.
Tell us you are paying off ABC.
Tell us you are paying off other football clubs.
Tell us you are paying off the taxman.
Tell us our club is debt free.
Tell us about your plans to improve the ground.
There is no need to be coy, the club is not for sale. You will not be giving away trade secrets that anyone else can use against us. You will just be confirming you can pay our debts and improve our club. Think how happy we will all be to hear that.
