NEWS : 12/August/2001 : Progress report, with screenshots!
Since the last news item, I've managed to complete a lot of little things for the project. I can now say that we have a complete and fairly decent set of 2001 "grey" sponsor logos, along with eleven 2001 chassis backgrounds for each team's "home" screen. And thanks to the contribution from Agis, there is a 50-piece set of 2001 driver helmet images that can be used in place of the standard driver head images. These helmets will likely become the default choice for the patch, and for those who prefer driver heads, an add-on will be made.
The website has been updated in various areas. Most significantly the driver research area, now with a complete list of the Non-F1 drivers that we will use in the patch. Perhaps one of your favourite drivers has been left out, and I apologise for this but then again, this is Formula One and so only those drivers who have tested for a Formula One team this year will be granted a place in the patch.
And in regard to the programming of the patch, as far as I know, not much progress has been made. DJ is very busy, and so we can only wait until he has some spare time. There is nothing I can do at the moment, as I do not have the level of knowledge required to complete his work. Don't be surprised (or angry for that matter) if the project is delayed once again. That's life...

Just a quick note, Scott Dixon (21-year-old Rookie C.A.R.T driver) notched up a fourth placing at Chicago. From memory, I think that's his fourth top-five finish this season, and his seventh top-ten finish in the last nine races. Not to forget that he won in Nazareth and finished third at another race (can't remember the name). Definately a man on the move, from winning the 2000 Indy Lights championship, to becoming (most likely) the 2001 C.A.R.T Rookie of the Year (in which he leads Bruno Junqueira by 42(?) points).

A jelenleg elérhető 2000-es patcheket én nem raknám fel a helyedben. Az alant olvasható hozzászólásokat viszont ajánlom figyelmedbe: rövidesen lesz rendes 2000-es patch.
Elővettem a polcról a játékot, s elkezdtem.
A kérdésem: a 2000-es patch szépen átalakítja a csapatokat, és a pilótákat képeit is a megfelelő csapathoz teszi be. Viszont a pilóták tulajdonságait nem változtatja meg. Vagyishogy pl: BAR. Villeneuve képe alatt Takagi tulajdonságai mutatkoznak. Ez befolyásplja-e a 200-es szintet, vagy nem kell figyelembe vennem.

Jó csóka ez a Frentzen, csak fogni kell a kezét, mert erősen hajlamos a marhulásokra.
Aki jáccik a gamé-val annak mondom, a sárga zászló kikerülésének a módja (friss fejlesztés):
1. kiesik vmelyik autó-egér a kézre
2. sárga zászlóra figyelmeztetés-gyors dupla katt az easy-off parancsra. Így figyelmezteted a pilótát és meg sem előzik.
Már 3 verseny óta próbálom és hibátlanul működik, pedig Frentzen és Wurz is igen "fogékony" a büntetések begyűjtésére.
NEWS : 18/July/2001 : Not much progress made but a new forum has opened!
Well it's almost becoming a comical act with all these delays - I've moved the month back yet again (in the introductory paragraph). During the week I've had numerous enquiries about the state of the patch and so to maintain some level of efficiency, it is obviously a good time to update the website once more.
A new forum has been installed! The new "iKonboard" should definitely be an improvement on the last board, and because GP World is now hosted through the F1Sims Network, we will no longer have to deal with those pesky banner and pop-up ads - thanks F1Sims! To post in the forum, you are required to register an account - all existing members will have to re-register and so I apologise for the inconvenience. If you have any questions or comments on the patch or the game itself, please post them. Many of the site's visitors (including myself) are fairly knowledgeable on GPW strategies and tips, so this might be the best place to get the best advice.
Other updates to the website include a minor overhaul of the driver and staff statistics. Fortunately, GP World has acquired the help of an "F1-travelling" Greek journalist, who's knowledge and career position has provided the project with more accurate statistics and a possible alternative to using those "driver heads" in the game. I will still look to complete the driver heads myself but for now we do have an impressive alternative in place. Thanks Agis.
I've managed to get just over half of the grey 2001 sponsors done and so I hope to have the rest completed in the weekend. Then I will look at producing some 800x600 team backgrounds for the main screen, followed lastly by the driver heads. I will endeavour to find out the latest progress report on the programming section and keep you (the public) more informed in general. The wait must continue...

NEWS : 06/July/2001 : GP World joins the F1Sims Network!
GP World and the F1Sims Network will join forces to provide a better service to all F1 management simulation gamers, and in particular Grand Prix World players. We here at GP World see this development as an opportunity for us to reach further into the GPW community, as our new found partner is very well known in the F1 simulation gaming genre. Before this agreement, it seemed that many GPW players had never heard of the project's development, and so by increasing it's exposure through the F1Sims Network we expect that many more players will have the opportunity to experience the GPW2001 patch, once it is released.

Mindazonáltal én most leállok a gaméval egy darabig, a patchig biztosan..már ha lesz. Elég hülyén fog kinézni, hogy a 2001 szezon végén jön ki a 2001-es update.....:(((
A második szezonomat gyűröm a Jordan csapattal, és olyan változatos versenyben volt részem, amit meg kell osztanom veletek.
A helyszín Spa, a belga nagydíj. Itt köztudomású bármikor leeshet az eső (és bármikor fel is száradhat) szóval eléggé változatos… Most sem történt másként.
Én itt mindig a kemény gumi-1 boxkiállás stratégiát preferálom, de rajtam kívül ezt senki se alkalmazza. Mivel most is ez volt az alapfelállás az időmérőn közepes helyeket szereztem. A versenytáv 44 kör.
Rajt: Mindkét pilótám (A.Wurz és R.Schumacher) kiválóan kapja el a rajtot, a mezőny élére ugranak.
3-6 kör: Mivel több benzinnel és kemény gumival megyünk visszaesünk: 3.Wurz 6.R.Schumi.
6-10 kör: A német belefut egy sárga zászlóba(10 mp. bünti)-visszaesik.
1.M.Schumi (benetton) 2.Coulthardt(ferrari) 3.Wurz kicsit lemaradva, őt a Mclarenek támadják.
10-15 kör: Rajtam kívül mindenki kereket cserél és tankol, így Wurz átveszi a vezetést.
15-23 kör: Most mi megyünk kevesebb benzinnel, repesztenek a Jordan-Peugeot-ok (ja a régi szép idők IRL) így az osztrák növeli előnyét és a kis Schumi is feljön a 4. helyre.
23-24 kör: Mi is megejtjük a boxkiállásunkat, de köszönhetően a nagy előnynek Wurz közvetlenül a 2. helyre ál vissza, a sorrend most: 1. M.Schumi 2.Wurz 3.Coulthardt közvetlenül egymás mögött (R.Schumi leszakadva) de a többieknek még 1x cserélni kell (ha-ha).
24-30 kör: A 27. körben elered az eső (light rain), de a pálya még teljesen száraz. M. Schumi kicsit meglép, de Wurz tartja 2. Helyét Coulthardttal szemben.
30.kör: M.Schumi a boxban, de a pálya még száraz, ezért nem rak föl vizes gumit.
33.kör: A pálya vizes-intermediate gumi szükséges.
34.kör: M.Schumi(újra) és Coulthardt a boxban, átmeneti gumit tesznek fel.
Nics mese mostmár nekem is reagálnom kell, de dilemma elé kerülök:
9 kör van hátra, kb 2perces körök, mit csináljak?
- már ne menjek ki? (ezt rögtön elvetem)
- kimenjek átmeneti gumiért?
- kimenjek vizes gumiért? (de mi van ha eláll az eső vagy nem lesz nagyon vizes a pálya
Nem kockáztatok: Wurz a 35. körben, Ralf a 36. körben átmeneti gumiért ki!
36. kör: Wurz közvetlenül a skót mögé érkezik a boksz után, M.Schumi kb 10 mp-cel leszakadva 3., Ralf éppen kerékcseréhez készül…..mikor a pálya nagyon vizessé válik. Az utolsó utáni pillanatban üzenet a szerelőknek: R. Schuminak vizes gumit fölrakni!
36-39 kör: A helyzet most 1. Colthardt (átmeneti) 2. Wurz (átmeneti) közvetlenül mögötte 3.M. Schumi (átmeneti) folyamatosan dolgozza le hátrányát (köztudomású, hogy a legjobb esőmenő) Ralf pedig, aki egyedül megy a pályához illő gumikkal sorba előz és expressz sebességgel közelít az élen állókhoz.
39.kör: Eláll az eső! De a pálya még nagyon vizes. Vajon mikor szárad fel?
39-42 kör: 1.Colthardt 2.Wurz 3.M.Schumi, egymás mögött közvetlenül és megérkezik mögéjük Ralf is 4-es élbolyt alkotva.
43. (utolsó előtti) kör: Ralf először megelőzi bátyját, majd csapattársát, végül a skótot is, sőt; összejátszva Wurzzal (na ja: a jó csapatszellem ugyebár) mindketten otthagyják az addig élen vezető Coulthardt-dot.(Kettős győzelem?) Most a sorrend: 1. R.Schumi 2.Wurz 3.Coulthardt 4.M.Schumi
43. kör vége: a pálya felszárad-átmeneti gumi szükséges…
44.(utolsó kör): Természetesen Ralf visszaesik (4.hely), de utána már a sorrend nem változik…
Életem legváltozatosabb és legizgalmasabb versenye volt.
Ráadásul az ellenfelek mesterséges intelligenciája is 100%-osan működött.

Én is jáccom folyamatosan, elvégre edzésben kell lenni a 2001-es pecs kijöttéig, nem igaz? Utolsó feladatomnak kedvenc F1-es csapatomnak a Jordannek az egyeduralmának kiépítését tekintem. 2 szezonbanig izgalmas szórakozás, mert a 2 csillagos designerem 40%-os handling-ü kasznit tervez.Még most is, ennyi játékóra után is érik újdonságok az embert, az egyik versenyen R. Schumi ugyanúgy mint Hakkinen (IRL) az utolsó(!!!) körben esett ki, pedig igencsak kímélő fokozatban ment már, ja és a 2. helyről. Tehát: Forza GPW!
na, hogy felhozzam egy kicsit a topicot ime egy kis elmenybeszamolo.
szal Wury 2001-ben megszerezte 3. vb címér Belgiumban, a csapat egy versennyel később a negyediket a játékban. Rosset harmadik Benettonos évében is 2. lett, bár nagy nehezen, ay utsó versenzen dőlt el a 2. hely sorsa. a harmadik a Tyerelles Barrichello lett japánban, addig 4 pontot szerzett a szezonban, társa takagi meg nullát:))
Rosset három évig volt nálam, 3szor győzött (99 - Francia Nagydíj, Wurz 4., 2000 Japán GP, Wurz a második hely érdekében elengedte, ill. a legfontosabb a brazil számára: 2001 Brazil GP)
rengetegsyer lett masodik, de esőben soxor gyengélkedett.
2002 első versenyét ay előbb jácottam végig, az eredmény: Wurz indult az elrol, de a 2. körben ütközött a ferraris Mika Häkkinennel, de ügyes taktikával feljött a második helyre (ezt soxor megjácottam Rossettel is). Kettős győzelmet arattunk, mivel első benettonos versenyén Rubens Barrichello megszerezte első futamgyőzelmét, 46 mp-cel Wurz előtt. Harmadik lett Salo a williamsszel, érdekes módon a három évig Williamssznél dolgozó Michael Schumacher, aki tavaly harmadik volt, idén nem indul, non-f1 lett:)

Ezt a pár sort Jork Wierdsma ( a gpworld2001 patch készítője) írta nekem, miután megdobtam egy maillel. Nos, ez nem túl biztató:(
SzvSz szeptemberben vehetjük 'kézbe' az updatet leghamarabb.
Én még mindig a Benettonnal nyomom, Wurz már két vb-címet szerzett, Rossett pedig már három futamot is megnyert, meg szerzett két pole-t, két év és két verseny alatt:)

tudom, hogy most egy olyan kérdést teszek fel, ami már volt a topikban és meg is lett válaszolva, de a patch-eket és frissítéseket keresve teljesen összezavarodtam.
A kérdés melyik az a patch és frissítés, amit érdemes most felrakni a Microprose Grand Prix World-re, hogy a legfrissebb és lejobb verziót használhassam?
Ja és honnan tudom ezeket letölteni? :o)
Egy csomó file-t leszedtem már, de nem vagyok biztos benne, hogy ezek a fent említett játékhoz valóak vagy sem, valamint abban se, hogy nem tesznek-e nagyobb kárt a különböző béta fájlok.
We have completed a lot of work on updating images but we still have to complete the grey sponsor logos, driver heads and our 2001 GPW3 carset. Tim Conway will most likely finish off the work on the sponsor logos shortly and I will personally complete the driver heads at a later date.
GPW3? What is GPW3? Good question. It is a new initiative that we have come up with to design our 2001 car liveries. It even has the support of Ralph Hummerich! Yes, we here at GP World have permission to use, adapt and modify Ralph's wonderful 2001 Grand Prix 3 (GP3) carset to create our own 2001 GPW carset.

I think many of you will agree that this is fantastic news and I'd like to be the first to thank Ralph for his tremendous generousity. With this latest initiative, it also raises an important question: Do we need to create a "blank" 2001 carset with "green" sponsor logos? Please voice your opinion in the thread in the forum. More details about the pros and cons will be posted inside. The GPW3 liveries will be created by "barrybumhead".
As for the real part of this patch - the data patch. DJ has conducted some heavy debugging sessions on the gpw.exe file to improve the transition from 1998 to 2001. He has also completed the required tests to ensure that our modifications will work. These modifications will allow us to set the correct driver sounds and driver helmets to each driver. As for the progress of the overall data patch, we are beginning to program in a solution to allow us to enter 2001 statistics and other related data. Although no specific date has been set for completion, we are hoping that the data patch will be ready for use in a month's time. The one great aspect about the data patch is that it will provide us with the facilities to make further season patches for 2002 and possibly 2003. How we will fit Toyota into the scheme of things in 2002 is a slight worry but it may be that the weakest team of 2001 (or 2002) will miss out.
Here is a list of the updates made on the website:
- Updated all driver pages with new abilities and contract lengths, plus new driver heads for McLaren and Prost
- Updated all team pages with new handling percentages and performance and reliability statistics
- Updated the sponsor listing page to reflect the importance of those sponsors that appear on the car liveries
- Added many new sections to the sponsor listing page to provide an oversight of the cash allocation
- Updated the tyre sponsor attribute page with more realistic 2001 season data
- And a few small modifications to some of the other pages on the website

Én is már nagyon régóta keresek f1 manager programot. Régen még sinclair-re volt egy nagyon jó, meg még a 486-s világban. Azóta ...
A kérdésem az lenne, hogy különböző program és verzió számokat láttam itt is, meg a Net-en is.
Szóval a kérdés: Jelenleg a leghasználhatóbb a Microprose Grand Prix World nevű játéka? Ez mikori kiadás? Milyen rendszerkövetelményei vannak? Ezzel játszik itt mindenki?
