FORMER world No.1 Jennifer Capriati is planning to make a comeback to the WTA Tour, tentatively scheduling the NASDAQ-100 in Miami in March for her return.

Capriati has been out of action for 12 months. Pic: Reuters"She could be back in March in Miami but it is still tentative," a WTA official said. Capriati, 29, has been sidelined since undergoing successful arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn labrum in her right shoulder last year.
The American won the 2001 and 2002 Australian Open titles as well as the 2001 French Open, but the injury has kept her on the sidelines since she withdrew from the Australian Open last year. She is the biggest women's name missing from the first grand slam of the year at Melbourne Park.
Capriati made history by becoming the youngest player to reach a Women's Tennis Association final aged 13 before drug and personal problems saw her retreat from the game. But she returned to the circuit in style to win the 2001 Australian Open final, defeating Martina Hingis, who is herself making a comeback after she retired from the game three years ago.
Capriati has won 14 Tour events, most recently winning the 2003 New Haven title.
