Juan Martin Del Potro survives Yoshi Nishioka 5-7 6-4 6-2 6-7(5) 6-2. Huge celebration from Delpo, then both bowed to each other. Love it. Despite the tape on his knee, Juan Martin looks very happy.
For anyone wondering, Delpo has the same knee/leg taped that he fractured in Shanghai last year. But the taping is in the classic patella tendonitis placement so hopefully not serious. Moving so gingerly though.
Nagy gratuláció Delpinek. Ez a meccs végi nagyszerű sportemberi gesztus eszembe juttatta a régi szép emlékeket. Anno 2009-ben a US Open döntőig szinte semmit nem tudtam róla, csak a Federer elleni melbourne-i vereség rémlett, aztán a szenzációs győzelem után elkezdtem megkedvelni. Mondhatni azóta a mai napig a 2. kedvenc játékosom Roger után. Remélem nincs nagy baj a térdével, és a következő meccsen is túljut majd.
Áhh, de ezek a momentumok... Amikor a ritka szép meccslabda után átment Nishioka térfelére, és az ő kultúrájának megfelelő módon üdvözölte megmelengette a szívemet. Mit nem adnék, ha összejönne még egyszer egy Federer - Del Potro Grand Slam-döntő... De természetesen azzal is megelégszem, ha bármelyiküket döntőben láthatom még jó néhányszor.
Húha, úgy látom jó hogy vezetés közben nem követtem az állást! Komoly áldozatokkal lett meg ez a győzelem, pedig azt hittem könnyű napunk lesz:) Hogy nézett ki a meccs végén? Thompson még meglehetne rosszabb játékkal is, ha nem sérült.
