THOMAS Gaardsoe watched Zoltan Gera make an impressive full debut in last night's (Wednesday) 1-1 draw against Tottenham and then insisted: "He's got a bright Hawthorns future."
The Hungary skipper made himself an instant favourite with the Albion hordes by firing Gary Megson's men into a third-minute lead with only his second touch of the game.
And the £1.5 million summer signing continued to royally entertain a capacity home crowd with a gymnastic goal celebration which led to a chorus of 'Gera, Gera' ringing around the Black Country venue.
Gaardsoe said: "Zoltan showed us what he is capable of on Sunday and he continued yesterday, he looked fresh and sharp.
"He has some great ideas and made a big contribution.
"Scoring was great for him as well and you can see he's a really good player because of the way he treats the ball and the way he passes it around - he's a clever player and he'll be good for us."
A munkatarsaimmal jatszunk fantasy focit a Telegraph honlapjan, hat mit mondjak, eleg nagyot neztek, amikor elsokent Gerzsont "igazoltam le". Fogalmuk sem volt rola, hogy ki o. Ma viszont egy ilyen e-mail vart reggel: "Man, your guy has the skills!!"
One man the Albion manager did reserve praise for was his 1.5million summer signing Gera, whose goal celebration would have scored ten in the Olympic gymnastics finals.
"As Zoltan gets stronger and more atuned to the pace of English football I think he'll get better and better"
"He's got a good quality and some of the passes he knocked from wide right were terrific"
"He started to tire towards the last 15 minutes but it's certainly a good start for him to score on his full debut"
