ALBION have received a Premiership boost with the news new boy Zoltan Gera is eligible for Saturday's Blackburn opener - providing he is fit.
The Baggies today (Tuesday) finally received international clearance from the Hungarian Football Federation to field Gera.
It means manager Gary Megson can now include the £1.5million signing from Ferencvaros in his plans for the club's top flight return fixture at Graeme Souness' Rovers.
However, it is unlikely Gera would have figured in Saturday's final pre-season game against Boavista, even if the club had received the necessary paperwork in time, after the 25-year-old suffered a slight knock in training.
Megson will now be hoping the Hungary captain recovers in time for the Ewood Park trip.
