"Anyone interested in really objective and unbiased opinion should read the following carefully:
- If you want APS-C system, and are thinking about which brand to buy into, go Fuji. Yes, Sony APS-Cs like a6000 and a6300 are faster with AF and AF tracking, but the most important thing is that Sony APS-C lenses are not up to lenses from Fuji. Fuji makes best APS-C lenses in the world, period.
-If you shoot JPEGs, and dont want to bother with post processing, go Fuji. Fuji, as Amar mentioned, produces outstanding film simulations directly from camera, far superior to Sony JPEG look.
-If you shoot RAW, and rely much on post processing skills, go Sony full frame. Sony ff sensors (especially a7R and a7RII) have higher dynamic range, lower noise and higher pixel count, and with RAW processing, the Fuji`s JPEG advantage is eliminated. (Again, dont buy Sony APS-C because you will have to buy full frame lenses if you want high quality lenses)
-If you want really high quality video, and know how to shoot it and grade it after, absolutely Sony. Many people produced pro level videos with A7s camera. Many TV commercials, music videos etc are shot with this camera solely. It is incredible video option, and S-log2 and S-log3 give you grading capabilities that no other camera manufacturer reached.
-If ruggedness, ergonomics, weather resistance is important to your work, go Fuji. Their ergonomics, dial layout, etc are fantastic, in my opinion the best. Weather resistance is maybe only second to Pentax and certain Canon models like EOS 7d.
- Sony cameras indeed launch more frequently than others. But that definitely dont mean they devaluate more quickly than other brands. On the contrary, quick fall of original A7 price on second hand market, made prices of competitors second hand cameras to fall accordingly. A7 has drastically lowered the price of second hand Canon and Nikon full frames.
- If you care about customer support (and you do, everybody does), Fuji has much better support than Sony." |
