They said it wouldn't last. Turns out that they were right.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, perhaps the most heavily scrutinized, most persistently watched celebrity couple of the past decade, called it quits Tuesday. Lopez's publicist confirmed the breakup Thursday.

According to Us Weekly, which broke the story on its Web site, Lopez, 33, spent her first single night dining with business advisers at Hollywood eatery Mortons. Affleck, 31, a frequent presence in Las Vegas, was spotted gambling into the wee hours at a Los Angeles-area casino.
