I think, that the german demo bus on the first picture, and the bus on the second pic with "Budapest" is the same. I'm not sure, but I think, that this bus is red-white, because the dark part is different than the BKV's blue on a b&w pictures.
The other demo buses is a bit difficult, so we try it understand tomorrow. :-)

I am searching for pictures of a special Ikarus 180 bus. It's one of the earliest prototypes from 1961/62. The bus was exhibited on Leipzig Spring Fair in March 1962 without engine.
One year later, in 1963, the bus was tested in 3 cities of German Democratic Republic (GDR): Berlin, Erfurt and Karl-Marx-Stadt (= todays name is Chemnitz).
There are not many pictures existing from this bus. Not only one picture showing this bus in Hungary! All known pictures show the bus in Germany. And all of them black-white.
So nothing is known about the colors of this bus. I want to know, if the bus was white or silver and if the dark areas on black-white pictures were red (like Bucuresti colors) or blue (like Budapest colors). Please look to some details like the mirrors are low fitted (not at the roof!). Only the very first buses had the low mirrors. There was the red-white from Budapest Fair 1961 and 1963. And the GA 62-51. Could it be the same? Does anyone know, what has happened to Budapest Fair 1961/63 red-white bus later? Was ist GA 62-51 or GA 07-30? But GA 07-30 has mirrors at the roof. Maybe it was changed later? And what number was the hotel bus (GA 79-65) before it's life as hotel bus?
Hello. I don't know how many buses have had the mirrors at thelower ege of the windscreen?!
And the indicators (blinker lights / winker) outside next to the headlamps (later had above them).

The article (and you too) said the hotel bus was built from the Leyland-engined model. I think the GA 07-30 on the picture has to be the red and white one with the black stripe. But I think this GA 07-30 was brought to Pécs (GA 62-65). Am I wrong, or could it be a more complicated story?

It's correct,is the same bus from Leipzig fair and was tested in Berlin too. Gispersleben is a suburb of Erfurt.
The picture must be from September 1963, when the bus was there.
Where did you find this picture? I need informaton about the color of this bus.
It must be other Color than the red-white prototype with the black stripe. But WHAT??
I don't can imagine that it was blue silver, because it had black labels like "entry" and "exit" on the dark areas. And it was readable good. I think if the dark areas were blue you could not read black letters on it?!
Which blue silver prototype was refurbished to the Hotel bus? I thought there was only existing 2 protoypes ...

I think, the hotelbus was created from the silver-blue prototype with Leyland engine.

Maybe stayed in Germany? I found this picture from Gispersleben, it looks like the german prototype from the Leipzig fair. Same livery, same hubcaps, same door layout.

Look at the bus from Leipzig spring fair 1962 (attached picture) to compare with the other bus from the link above.
The bus from Leipzig fair has other color, it has a destination sign window at the articulated part above the middle window and no destination sign window at the rear. And it Looks different at the front part below the bumper. The distance between bumper and decoration stripe is different (Leipzig bus has Little more distance).
The bus from 1961 Budapest International fair was exhibted again in 1963 in the same look from 1961.
So it is not possible, that the bus was refurbished before it has gone to Leipzig in March 1962.
The bus was exhibited without engine, so probably after Leipzig time it has gone back to Hungary to equip the bus with an engine. And than - one year later - from April 1963 it was tested in 3 german cities: Berlin, Erfurt and Karl-Marx-Stadt.

Ez se semmi: valószínűleg a világ egyik legöregebb aktív, közforgalmú (tehát nem nosztalgia) Ikarusa látható a képen - 41 (!!!) évesen még mindig megy:
Egy technikai jellegű kér(d)és: miért nem úgy teszed be a képeidet, hogy látszódjon az előnézeti kép? Így, mindenféle komment nélkül nem tudja az ember, hogy mit rejt a link.
A helyzet a következő: ha van a busznak két állapota, azokat külön kell létrehozni, és érvényesítés után ezek két külön linken fognak létezni. Ha ezeket valaki összevonja, akkor csak az egyik link fog tovább élni.
Már csak ezt a hármat kérdezem: 260.32.1986.3297, 1986.3299, 1987.0918. (Az utolsó még mindig megy, de már rég nem abban a Kisalföld-szerű festésben, ami anno megosztotta az erre hívatott topikot.)
