Felipe Massa testing at Monza todayFelipe Massa was left in the shade by Rubens Barrichello, the man he is replacing at Ferrari next year, during his first day back testing for the Maranello team at Monza in Italy today.
The former Ferrari test driver was handed a standard F2005 with control tyres in a bid to re-acquaint himself with the team prior to his arrival as a race driver next season.
Massa's best lap of 1:23.461 was almost one second slower than the outgoing Rubens Barrichello, who was focusing on tyre development work for the Italian Grand Prix. Ferrari had exclusive use of the track.
"I am happy to be driving again for Ferrari," Massa told Autosport-Atlas. "In the morning I just familialised myself with the car and in the afternoon I did some set up work."
Ferrari and Bridgestone are clearly pulling out all the stops in a bid to resurrect their season, with sources claiming that the team is evaluating up to 15 different compound and constructions for the Monza race - having already narrowed down their selection following recent testing at Fiorano.
The day was relatively incident free, with the only red flag coming out when Felipe Massa stopped with a broken engine.
Ferrari will be joined by every other team on the grid, apart from Minardi, from tomorrow.

Nem, csak csassza a bőrét, hogy ennyire ég a tavalyi havaj évad után. És, ha nyomás van rajta, akkor ront. Mint Kimi Ausztráliában, amikor meg akarta mutatni, hogy mennyivel jobb, mint JPM. El is baszta. Csak ő azóta megnyugodott, MS meg rendszeresen szopik a szar Ferrarijával, határon túl autózik, és meg is van a látszatja. Tkp tudja, hogy elterjesztették róla, hogy nem a Ferrari, hanem őmiatta nyert ennyi VB-t. Pedig ez, mint látjuk, legalább 60-40 az autó javára.
Vagy inkább én süllyedek le mondjuk Beléndek szintjére.... De egy ilyet ugye nem trendi mondani, mert itt én vagyok ugye a patás ördög.
Ez a kurvaanyázós dolog pedig a világ legszánalmasabb dolga, kábé 5-ször ha elhangzott tőlem, miközben 3 év óta járok ide (és el is fog néha napján, ha felhúz valami), kábé ennyiszer Ordastól, de ez a hisztéria amit csinálnak ebből az egészből, hihetetlenül szánalmas.
Beléndek pedig nem nagyon érdemel több szót, annyira minősíthetetlen. Legalább 15 pontot tudnék megnevezni a hozzászólásaiban, amire kiseeszével lehetne reagálni, egyszerűen nem érzem szükségességét. Pedig van bennem egy erőteljes reakciós hajlam, de ez már nekem is sok. Mókás ahogy jön ezzel a "geciszarral", erre megint kár koptatni a billentyűzetet. Siralmas. De tényleg.

Renault v10 engine from 2005Motor racing's governing body the FIA is being urged to make further restrictions on V10 engines next season amid growing fears that the power-units will be more powerful than the new-for-2006 V8s.
Although the FIA has vowed to ensure that teams running old V10 engines next season will not have an advantage, there are worries that plans to restrict power do not go far enough.
Currently only Minardi are planning to go down the V10 route. But with the early experiences of V8s sparking fears about dealing with vibration problems caused by the need to run them at more than 20,000rpm, Autosport-Atlas understands concerns are emerging that a manufacturer could be tempted to stay with a V10 if they cannot get on top of any major V8 problems during the winter.
This comes despite the manufacturers having signed a letter in July all committing themselves to running V8 engines next season.
The latest fears have prompted Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn and Mercedes-Benz motorsport boss Norbert Haug to ask the FIA to make further restrictions on the V10s to ensure there is no temptation from a manufacturer to switch camps. The matter is believed to be up for discussion when the teams meet with FIA president Max Mosley on August 31st.
Brawn said: "You cannot make a V10 exactly the same as a V8. I think the proposal is a limit on rpm and an air restrictor, but it's very difficult to give it exactly the same power and torque curve as a V8.
"You can't keep the revs up (on a V10) because if you do, the thing will have 800 bhp. It's got to be a concession, and I think it's a concession that the FIA need to get out in the rules as fast as they can because there will always be that temptation for people to have a look at that route if it looks to be competitive."
Haug added: "There is a first proposal from the FIA (to limit V10s) but it needs to be refined because what is on the table right now clearly favours a V10.
"But people have a common view on that and all the engine manufacturers will find an agreement for next year. As it stands right now, Minardi are the only team that will have a V10.
"Having said that, we need the right equivalence formula that we achieve our goals and that there is not a better engine than the V8."
Although the V10/V8 issue is unlikely to play a major role in the fight at the front of the grid, he believes the matter will become vital to those teams further down the grid.
"I hope we are not the people who are worried by Minardi's performance but people like Jordan and the teams around there are the teams who should be looking at it very carefully because Minardi have an advantage from the engine," he added.
"So at that end of the grid it's going to get quite difficult. That engine rule was left in as an economic concession to the small teams, It should not be there as a means of a small team achieving amore competitive position."

próbáltam lesüllyedni oda, lehet, hogy nem kellett volna, de nem állom és nem értem, mikor valaki, aki amúgy az életben valszeg normális, jófej srác, anonimban elveszti az eszét és komplett hülyének láttatja magát.
"Emlékezetem szerint ez már kb a 3. olyan kvali volt idén, ahol kivitte a fűre kocsit vagy épp pörgött"
Pont ezért kértem, hogy hozz rá példákat...(az meg szőrszálhasogatás, hogy kiesett/bénázott a kvalin, mindketten ugyanarról beszélünk)

Nekem még nem mondtad el egyszer sem, drága st, viszont itt sokaknak igen. Tudom, mert olvastam :) De erre meg had mondjam már azt, hogy engem meg nem igazán érdekel, hogy a versenyen miért lassú (ha már téged nem érdekel, Ms épp mi miatt kvalizik szarul). Ez a F1. Ha lassú a gépsárkány, tessék elővenni a pilóta tudását (ahogy Ms-től is elvárja mindenki, hogy a szar Ferkával körözze a Mekiket). :))

Szerintem ezt azért nem kéne...sem neked lesüllyedni Fisico szintjére, sem Fisiconak lesüllyedni arra a szintre, amit itt néha előad.
GCF egy tehetséges pilóta, de közel nem akkora ász, mint Fisico szeretné. Valóban a 2. számú pilóta a Rötyónál, de ő ezt tudta sztem, amikor aláírt oda (kb mint Birka a Ferkánál...lehet sajnálni, csak felesleges). És valóban, elég öregecske ahhoz, hogy valahol top-driver legyen.
Kb mint Trulli.
Sztem a sorrend a pilóták tudása alapján: - MS (engedtessék meg nekem :DDD) - Kimi - Button - JPM - Alonso - GCF és Trulli és Quick-Nick - RSCH és DC és Birka és Webber és Massa - Sato & others - ZsákVilnöv: ő sötét ló, mert szvsz a F1-ben nem tett le túl sokat az asztalra a VB-címén kívül, de azért ő Indy-bajnok is volt, szal érthet hozzá...csak talán már nincs motivációja, vagy nem tudom.

Toyota and HondaBAR and Toyota are set to stir further controversy in this week's test at Monza, after deciding to continue running with more than two cars, Autosport-Atlas has learned.
The two-car limit was agreed among the non-Ferrari teams prior to the start of the season, in a bid to ensure that teams were not tempted to bring three or more cars to each test day so as not waste any of their 30-day in-season testing limit.
But at the Jerez test before the summer break, Toyota and BAR cleverly exploited a loophole in the two-car agreement. Toyota brought three cars to that test, and BAR four, but they ensured they did not breach the regulations by running only two cars on the track at the same time.
Some of their rivals were a bit upset at the actions of the two teams, but those complaints have not been serious enough for the teams to stop their ploy at the Monza test.
Toyota will have Ralf Schumacher and Ricardo Zonta working on 2005 developments, with Olivier Panis working on the V8 programme for next year. BAR will have Jenson Button and Takuma Sato backed up by tester Adam Carroll.
The other teams present at the major test will run two cars each.
Other teams testing on Wednesday, as well as BAR and Toyota, are Ferrari (Luca Badoer and Felipe Massa); McLaren (Alexander Wurz and Pedro de la Rosa); Renault (Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella); Williams (Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg); Red Bull Racing (David Coulthard and Vitantonio Liuzzi); Sauber (Jacques Villeneuve); and Jordan (Nicolas Kiesa and Tiago Monteiro).
És gondolod, hogy 1 (ismétlem, egy!!!) hiba miatt került ő a Minardik/Jordanak szintjére st fejecskéjében, vagy esetleg túlzott antifosi "kollégátok"?
Amúgy Imola érdekes kérdés: a kakukktojás az idei évedban...nem értem, ott és akkor miért volt olyan jo a Ferrari, és sem előtte, sem utána nem ér egy halovány lepkefingot sem.
