RE 'JAPANESE WHISPERS' PICTURE DISC - HIGH PRICE - WE HAVE BEEN TOLD: “Apart from the fact that manufacturing costs have gone through the roof in the past 12 months, the Transclear paper-stock used for Japanese Whispers is much more expensive than a regular cardboard sleeve, and each Japanese Whispers has had to be individually hand packed to avoid tearing the sleeve, which has increased the unit cost even more.” RS
Disintegration was The Cure's first set of new material in two years, so the band decamped to drummer Boris Williams' house in Devon to write and record a set of demos. According to the "Prayer Tour" programme, there were 40 musical ideas created for the album, 30 of which were earmarked for further work, and 12 of these made it to the finished album. Four songs - Babble, Out Of Mind, 2 Late and Fear Of Ghosts - were kept as b-sides.
Smith said of these sessions in the deluxe edition of Disintegration: The atmosphere was great at Boris's house. We created our own strange, sall world, insular and intensely surreal. It was an understandable reaction to how seriously big all things Cure had got with the success of the Kiss Me album and tour. "

So Disintegration was really for me certainly the last album of The Cure that I was part of, and also for me I think it feels like the last album of that particular era of The Cure.
In lots of ways, all of the Cure's records were really especially in the early days, like our diaries, you know, what we wrote about, what we played about was really what was happening to us and nothing can be for true about Disintegration for me, because it was a particularly low point in my life and so the title was pretty apt.
35 years after the release of Disintegration my life is quite different than it was back then. 180 degrees different in fact.
I think on reflection I look at the Disintegration as sort of pivotal album it was definitely the end of an era but it was also the heralding of a different type of life for me, personally. And so that's really the sort of mark with inspired for me in my life. I think everybody has time's in their life where things need to change radically and that's what happened for me and so for that I'm very grateful.

To celebrate, we're heading back to 1989, in an all day deep dive into this album and that year of music, with contributions from Tim Pope, Lol Tolhurst and more.
Már az is csoda lesz, ha egyáltalán még lesz, az meg nem legyen igazam, de szerintem borítékolható, hogy sem PG, sem DISI, sem BF, de még The Top, vagy THOTD, Wish szinteket sem fog megütni már.
Bevallom őszintén, hogy a Endsong, és talán az Alone lenne két szám az új albumon eddig, a többi nope számomra.
Érdekes ez... kicsit attól félek, hogy így meg átcsúszunk a túlcicomázás világába - de ne legyen igazam... Na, mindegy, úgy fest, a várakozás nekünk létállapot lett. Ami mondjuk tematikailag még stimmelne is egy Cure-világhoz :)
Ez a video már csaknem 2 éves (2022.május) és frankó minőségben szól az egyik új daluk ahogy színpadra vonulnak. Min lehet ennyit molyolni azóta is....
