Shark fishing in the Red Sea is an issue that has always bothered every environmentalist, diver and all those who care about the Red Sea.
HEPCA (Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association) had several meetings with Government officials throughout the last year trying to reach a solution to stop these massacres. Unfortunately, these meetings were not a success due to the dramatic lack of legislations, and contradictions and conflicts, between Governmental agencies. This coupled with the lack of vision and the absence of any strategy of the Ministry of Fisheries meant shark fishing was becoming a major threat in the Red Sea.
The honest local fishermen of the Red Sea have always shared the same vision concerning the Red Sea future as all those concerned. They believe that if we do not stop these acts now they will not be able to feed their own in the very near future, and that the problem comes from the fishing fleets that come from outside the area with no concern about the future of the Red Sea. In the past, the limited resources of the National Parks, who are responsible for enforcing the law, has meant that they could not patrol the whole of the Red Sea.
Things came to ahead recently when a fishing boat was intersected at the popular dive site of Shaab Abu Ramada. James & Mac Diving Center contacted HEPCA and in no time the EEAA's (Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency) patrol boat was on site and the crew were arrested. His Excellency General Saad Abu Rida, The Red Sea Governor, then ordered the confiscation of the fishing boat and issued a fine of one hundred thousand Egyptian pounds.
Feeling frustrated and outraged by this incident HEPCA then found no other solution to the shark fishing issue than to sue the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
HEPCA is now very proud to announce that after a series of negotiations and a large amount of lobbying, and with the great help and dedication of Dr. Mahmoud Hanafy, the General Supervisor of the National Parks of the Red Sea, a decree has been secured from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries banning shark fishing in the whole of the Red Sea.
Previously, all the decrees the Red Sea Governor issued to protect the Red Sea were not implemented as they contradicted with the Egyptian fishing laws.
There is now a legislation in place which will ensure an umbrella of protection for Red Sea sharks. With this new legislation in place nothing will stop us from destroying this industry in the whole of the Red Sea region.
We are all now looking forward to, and getting ready to, implement this new decree.

Cetcapak ha jol tudom inkabb jun-aug-ban vannak az Ari atollnal, mi meg februarban megyunk...
A maldív ilyen szempontból standard. Mindenhol van búváros program. Ellaidhoon voltam én is. Merülni nagyon jó volt. Meerun is merültem. Ott kezdtem szerintem teljesen rendben van. House reef messze van de a hajós merülőhelyek rendben vannak.
Egy dolog biztos a maldívon minden merülés hajós és sokszor drift. Embudut ajánlják még. Az Ari-atollban déli atolljait is ajánlom még a cetcápák miatt.
Remélem nem olyan volt, hogy autóval beestetek valami vízbe a jég alá! :)
Amikor az Adriára megyünk (autóval), akkor mindig elsütjük azt a poént, hogy akkor most egy roncsmerüléssel kezdünk (a tengerparti szerpentinen kanyargás közben).. :)
Nekem nem jött be. Valahogy én szeretem a klasszikus megoldásokat. Ami nem azt jelenti, hogy nem jó. Több esélyt látok arra, hogy valami besz...jon. Ha megveszed akkor érdekel a jacketed. Persze jó áron. :-))
Ez lehet, hogy jobban is így van, mint gondolnánk. Attól tartok, a politika kissé beleköp kedvenc sós vizeinkbe. Egy-két hónapja lehetett arról hallani, hogy a Gázai övezet és Egyiptom között gyakorlatilag megszűnt a határ őrizete. Egy csomóan mentek át Egyiptomba, és szerintem jópáran közülük nem virágot visznek magukkal... Szóval, arra gondoltam, addig kell menni Egyiptomba, amíg lehet. Én már csomagolok!
Bázist létesített a Sínai-félszigeten az al-Kaida, értesült az izraeli katonai hírszerzés. Aharon Zeévi-Farkas tábornok, a katonai hírszerzés főnöke szerint az al-Kaida megtelepüléséről az egyiptomi hatóságok is tudnak, és fáradoznak is a terrorcsoport szétverésén.
Zeévi-Farkas szerint azonban az egyiptomi hatóságok nem akarnak nyílt konfliktusba keveredni a terrorcsoporttal, nehogy merénylethullám induljon el a turisztikai szempontból jelentős félszigeten.
Hm. Megneztem ezt a Winair-t. Ugy tunik ezek is a standard, minden magyar utazasi iroda altal ajanlott, nem annyira buvarkodasra, inkabb tengerparti lablogatasra idealis resortokat kinaljak csak (Meeru, Sun Island). Csak a Neckermannak vannak "buvarosabb" helyei.
A www.winair.hu -t ajánlom. Utazási iroda és maldívban igen jók.
A búvárkodás nem szempont mivel a bázisok ára alatt senki sem kap merülést. Magyarul a sziget bázisa a meghatározó árban. Persze lehet mást mondani, de ez a valóság. Ja és csak a bázissal és DM-jeivel merülhetsz. Ha elég ügyes vagy szabadon párban. Szóval megvettem a hajót és merülök ahol akarok taktika itt nem jön be. A bázis indítja a hajókat és adja meg a merülőhelyeket amiket kb 10-14 naponta rotál azaz újra megy ugyanoda. Egy szigeten egy bázis van.
A búvárkodásban csak az a szempont mit akarsz látni. Manta minden nap Baa atoll. Cetcápa déli Ari atoll stb...
Te is profi vagy oroszban?:) Én aztán bármit megszervezek, és a nyugati szaksajtó is egyre inkább arccal a kelet (a posztszovjet országok) felé fordul. Úgy látszik, lennie kell ott valami érdekesnek.:)
